Wa-Hi to host district games Friday

WALLA WALLA — The Walla Walla High School boys and girls basketball teams are hosting district tourney games Friday night.

The Union-Bulletin incorrectly reported in Sunday’s edition that those games were Saturday.

Tonight, the Pasco and Chiawana boys play, with the winner heading to Walla Walla for an 8 p.m. tilt on Friday, and the Pasco and Richland girls square off tonight for the right to face the Blue Devils at 6 p.m. Friday.

The winners of those games advance to play Saturday. The winner of Friday’s boys game goes to Richland, and the winner of the girls game heads to Chiawana. Times for those games are still being set.

Today, the District 9 2B tournament tips off at DeSales’ gym. The tourney has been postponed since Friday by inclement weather.

At 3 p.m., Waitsburg-Prescott’s boys face Asotin, followed by the Asotin girls vs. Tri-Cities Prep at 4:30. At 6, T-C Prep’s boys play Walla Walla Valley Academy, and the Dayton girls play DeSales at 7:30. All are for seeding to the District 7-9 subregional tourney.
